iPhone Photo Apps

I have been a HUGE fan of the Hipstamatic app for a long time now. I absolutely love all of the different lens options, film, flash and camera cases. The only thing that I am not a fan of is that you have to play with it till you find what you like and once you take a picture - that's the way it is. There are no adjustments within the app. I find that I take lots of extra pictures trying to find a setting combo that I like. Sometimes wasting valuable photo opportunities! 

In comes the new apps I have recently discovered. The nice thing about these is that you can use any photo in your library. So, take the pic with the "regular" camera app and then play. You can always go back to the original picture and start over. Try using more than one app on a photo... like add a vintage look in pixlr-o-matic, frame it in PicFrame and then add text in Phonto. So many options!!!

This app is crazy filled with awesome stuff. Tons of effects, overlays & borders! So many that sometimes it's overwhelming. :)

PicFrame - $0.99

Helps you combine multiple photos into amazing looking frames. There is 34 adjustable frames, rounded corners, patterns and an easy color picker to give you a unique look."

PictureShow - $1.99

"PictureShow emulates various toy camera styles. It enables you to mix frames, light leaks and noises, etc.  You can create an unexpected result with a simple shuffle button and even you can fine-tune on each edit mode."

Phonto - Free

Add text with more than 100 fonts available. You can change the font, size, orientation and color. There are other options, but I just use it to add text.

Surprise Party Success

My family pulled off a surprise birthday party for my grandmother who turned 75! She had NO idea and it turned out beautifully. Here is a peek at the invitation, etc.

My grandmother... she is so beautiful! I'm lucky to have such a wonderful woman in my life!

A New Year...and new classes!

Hello 2012!
Yes, I know it's been forever since I've posted. But, enough with what I have not done and on to what I have done... 

New Classes for 2012...

First up is the Smooch Layout.

I will post the link to purchase the class (over on the right side), when I get a final price. (the button is not active right now.)
However, this kit will come with more than enough goodies to do multiple layouts. Think... stickles, paint, twine and a whole Thickers alphabet pack.

The class will be taught on the following dates at Rockin' Reality Retreats:

Photo Transfer Class - Cancelled for Tomorrow

Toddler craft... Owls

Aaron's Fall party is tomorrow and I made these cute little owls for a craft they will be doing. I plan on having the kids put their hand prints on an 8.5 x 11 horizontal sheet and then adding the owl to the middle so that the hand prints are the wings. I'll let ya know how it turns out. I used the hoot n holler cricut cartridge to cut them all.

Make-N-Take for October 29 Retreat

I wish I could take credit for this cute little ornament, but I found the idea in this...
 


I will be doing a little Make-N-Take at the retreat next weekend to teach the basic design. However, the possibilities are endless! I am thinking stars, pow shapes, snowflakes...

Here is the basic how-to...



1. cut out shapes - about 16 total. I did circles first and then tried this fun snowflake shape. (I cut the snowflakes out on the cricut, for the circles you could use a punch) They need to be shapes that are congruent. Mine are about 3" in diameter.



2. Score down the middle of each piece and fold.



Do this to all of them. I used two different patterned paper. You could do them all the same, 3 different or if you had a bunch of scraps - all different. (Just think of all that Basic Grey paper you bought in packs and only used a few sheets. I had a whole box full.)



3. Now start gluing the halves together.





4. Keep gluing one half to the back of the next half. (alternating patterns if you have more than one)
Just be sure that your edges are lining up. There will be a gap in the middle when you are finished.

5. When you get the the last one, glue the two left over sides together to make a complete circle. 



6. I ran a ribbon through the center and added buttons to finish it off. I recommend a very small ribbon or even twine. There is a big enough gap to run it down the middle. 

Tada!
